Tips from the Manufacturer

Vinyl floors (also known as linoleum) are some of the easiest floors to maintain. Depending on the manufacturer's recommendations, daily sweeping, mopping, and/or dust mopping is essential in keeping your vinyl floor looking its’ best. Most floor manufacturers have their own products to be used, which often contain a three-part program - a cleaner - a stripper - and a refinisher. The cleaner can be used daily while the stripper, which removes old soap residue, should be used once or twice each year. The refinisher is used only after stripping and brings back the original luster and shine. Pay close attention to the manufacturers’ recommendations when caring for a new vinyl floor.

Immediately After Installation:
Do not disturb the sealed seams on your sheet vinyl flooring for at least 48 hours after seam-sealer application to ensure a proper seam bond. Keep traffic to a minimum during the first 48 hours on all sheet vinyl and vinyl tile floors to allow the adhesive to harden. Furniture should not be placed on the floor until the adhesive has had adequate time to dry.
